So which one suits me?

The one that cuts the bill most. Air chambers inside the profile and a steel reinforcement through the middle. The trade-off is a thicker frame, so slightly less glass.

What I do

I fit the brand that suits you.

I buy from several manufacturers and none of them sets me sales targets or pays me commission. When I come out to measure I tell you which material holds up best in your house, even if it is the cheapest one.

How it works

Four steps, that is all.

  • 01You message meOn WhatsApp, with a photo of the window. That alone is enough for me to point you somewhere.
  • 02I come and measureAt your home, free. I look at the opening, which way it faces, and where the noise is getting in.
  • 03Quote in writingMaterial, measurements and a fixed price. What it says is what you pay.
  • 04InstallationI fit it, seal it, check it closes properly, and take the old window away.

What people always ask me.

What does it cost to replace windows?

I cannot give you a price over the phone without lying to you. It depends on the material, the size of the opening, the opening type, the glazing, and whether the blind has to be touched. That is why the measuring visit is free: I come, I look, and you get a fixed number in writing.

Are there grants or subsidies?

Yes. Spain has grants and tax deductions for improving home insulation, and they change by year, by region and by your particular case. I will tell you what I know and provide any technical documentation you are asked for, but your gestor is the one who files it. I will not promise you an amount that is not mine to give.

How long does it take?

A normal home is usually days, not weeks. The terrace enclosure further up this page was started on 5 August and finished on the 7th. The slow part is almost never the fitting: it is the manufacturing lead time on the material.

Is it a big job? Does everything get covered in dust?

Less than you would think. The sash comes off, the old frame comes out, the new one goes in and gets sealed. There is dust, I will not pretend otherwise, but it is covered up before we start and cleaned when we finish. In most homes you can sleep there the same night.

PVC or aluminium?

Depends on your home, not on my catalogue. PVC insulates better and cuts the bill more. Aluminium gives a slimmer frame, more glass, and handles hard sun and sea air better. There is a comparison with real figures further up.

Do you work with a particular brand?

With all of them, and I am not an official dealer for any. That is deliberate. I do not have anyone sales target to hit, so I can recommend the system that suits your home even when it is not the expensive one.

What guarantee comes with it?

Two to five years depending on the material we fit. It is written into the quote, before you decide, not after.

What if only one thing is broken?

Then it gets repaired. A catch, a seal, a blind strap or a dropped sash is no reason to replace the whole window. If it can be fixed I will tell you, even though I earn less that way.

PVC windows

These are the types I fit. If you are not sure which one suits you, send me a photo and I will tell you.

  1. 01CasementOpens inwards like a door. The most common choice for bedrooms and living rooms.
  2. 02Tilt and turnOpens fully, or tilts in at the top to air the room without opening it.
  3. 03SlidingThe sashes slide past each other, so opening it takes up no room.
  4. 04Balcony doorA glazed door out to the balcony or terrace, in the same profile as the windows.

Aluminium windows

These are the types I fit. If you are not sure which one suits you, send me a photo and I will tell you.

  1. 01SlidingThe most requested in aluminium. A slim frame and a lot of glass.
  2. 02Thermally brokenAn insulating break between the inner and outer face. Far warmer than old aluminium.
  3. 03Tilt and turnTilts to ventilate and opens fully so you can clean the outside of the glass.
  4. 04Fixed picture windowDoes not open. Maximum light and view, often paired with a sliding unit.

Sliding doors

  1. 01Lift and slideThe panel lifts as it opens and drops as it closes, sealing tightly. For wide openings.
  2. 02Tilt and slideMoves out from the frame to slide, and also tilts to let air in.
  3. 03FoldingThe panels fold to one side and open the whole width of the gap.
  4. 04Minimal frameFrames you barely see. From inside it is almost all glass.

  2. 02Stacks to one sideThe panels turn and stack at one end, leaving the space open.
  3. 03On a balconyThe usual choice in coastal flats. It closes in without hiding the sea.
